THE GREENLEAF SCHOLARSHIPS THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO GRADUATING SENIORS ARE AWARDED BY SAINT BERNARD SCHOOL, FITCH, NEW LONDON & WATERFORD HIGH SCHOOLS TO RECIPIENTS THAT ARE SELECTED ON THEIR MERIT, NOT THROUGH AN APPLICATION PROCESS.

THE JAMES A. GREENLEAF MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IS ENTIRELY ELECTRONIC AND FILLED OUT ONLINE ONLY. PAPER COPIES OF ANY REQUIRED MATERIALS TO COMPLETE THE SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

ESSAY:

Your essay should explain your reasons for choosing Saint Bernard High School and articulate why you think you should be eligible to receive the James A. Greenleaf, Jr. Scholarship.

REFERENCES/LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATIONS:

Please provide the names and email addresses for (2) two teachers so they can provide for you both a reference and letter of recommendation. After the application has been submitted the teachers will be emailed a link to fill out an evaluation form. Within the evaluation form there is the option to upload a letter of recommendation as well. Let your teachers know in advance that they will be receiving an email from the scholarship committee and that the deadline for submission is imperative. It is the applicants responsibility to ensure that the teachers they have chosen submit all of the information required within the allotted time constraints.
In the event a teacher did NOT receive the email that contains the reference link, please contact: jgreenleafmemorialfund@gmail.com and it can be forwarded to them directly from The Greenleaf Scholarship Review Board.

Checklist:
1. Fill out and complete ALL sections of application.
2. Attach your essay explaining why you deserve the scholarship.
3. Choose two (2) teachers (using 2 different email addresses) to write recommendations to be sent to the Scholarship Committee within the time constraints.
4. Have those two (2) teachers complete evaluations forms to be sent to the Scholarship Committee within the time constraints.
5. Attach a copy of your latest transcript AND your latest report card.
6. Submit your portion of the Scholarship Form BEFORE the closing date for the scholarship.
